Employment Opportunity in Topeka


Topeka AIDS Project, soon to be Positive Connections, has a position opening for a  full-time HIV Counselor and Tester.  


This position is primarily responsible for conducting risk assessments, HIV testing and working with clients to develop risk reduction techniques, and facilitate referrals to other services as needed.  This position is also part of a team of prevention staff that works with high-risk individuals to help reduce their risky behaviors, in addition to providing some general HIV education and information in public settings.  


Prefer an Associate's Degree in Health or Human Service related field; however relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.  Person must be able to work with a diverse population, be non-judgmental and be comfortable with harm reduction principles.  Resumes may be sent to debbieguilbault@topekaaidsproject.org or sent through the mail to Topeka AIDS Project, 1001 SW Garfield, Suite 301, Topeka, KS  66604.

Topeka AIDS Project, soon to be Positive Connections, has a position open for a full-time Medical Case Manager. Minimum education requirements for this position are an RN with BSN or social worker with BSW or other related health or human services degree. 

This position carries a caseload of 50-60 individuals who are HIV+ and requires outstanding organizational skills. The primary responsibility of this position is to keep clients connected to medical care, help them maintain adherence to medical recommendations, and succeed in living a long, healthy and productive life despite their diagnosis.
