Online Work Readiness Assessment (OWRA): Webinar Series

The Office of Family Assistance through the Welfare Peer Technical Assistance (WPTA) Network is pleased to announce a series of technical assistance webinars for State, Tribal and county TANF administrators on the Online Work Readiness Assessment (OWRA) tool. 

 

The OWRA tool, available on the WPTA Web site at: http://peerta.acf.hhs.gov/tanftc is a comprehensive, targeted, online resource that can help case workers assess TANF participants and other individuals who could benefit from a work readiness assessment.

 

The first webinar, "Online Work Readiness Assessment: An Overview for TANF Program Staff" is scheduled for April 18, 2012, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. EST. This webinar is aimed specifically at program staff who are considering using OWRA as part of their business process. It is also an opportunity for TANF administrators and program staff to learn about OWRA.

 

The webinar will include:

  • Demonstration on how OWRA can help case manager/social service agency staff assess TANF and other disadvantaged clients;
  • An emphasis on what users typically want from an assessment tool;
  • An overview on requirements and technical specifications; and
  • Presentations from two leaders in the field.

The second webinar, "Downloading the Online Work Readiness Assessment (OWRA) Tool Webinar" is scheduled for April 24, 2012, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. EST. This webinar is intended for information technology staff to help familiarize themselves with the technical aspects of downloading the OWRA tool (how and where to download OWRA), and costs associated with hosting, customization and configuring the tool.

 

The webinar will include:

  • Overview of OWRA;
  • OWRA costs and what OFA provides;
  • How and where to download the OWRA; and
  • Available online resources and support for OWRA users.
