United Way Topeka Fall 2012 Grant Panel Review Teams

October 17, 2012

Good Afternoon!

Please share this with your Association Members.    Thank you!!

United Way of Greater Topeka would like your assistance on one of our review panels.   These panels of Volunteers are the ones who make the decisions about our funding.

I am sending you this note to let you know there are still a few openings for the Grant Panel Review process for the fall of 2012 open.    If you have signed up for a panel (or panels), thank you very much.    Your participation is greatly appreciated.    If you have not signed up for a review panel, then this gives you an opportunity to do so.   You may also wish to forward this to someone you know who does have a vested interest in one these areas.   Please forward this message over to them and talk with them about the process we use to help ensure the best proposals are funded.

All panels will meet at the United Way at 1315 SW Arrowhead Road on the dates indicated.   Panel Reviews will begin at 8:30 on that date and will last from 3-6 hours based upon the number of proposals there are to review.

As you can see, we are using a new system to post and review these proposals this fall.    There will be some required training and that will consist of watching a couple videos on line and signing up into our e-CImpact database.

It is truly you, the volunteers who make the funding decisions that ultimately will change our community.    We look forward to working with you and greatly appreciate your volunteer spirit.

Click here to sign up to be a Grant Panel Review Team Member   Once you sign up to be a Team Member,  please let me know so we can get you the information about the training.

Click here to be on a Renewal Panel     Renewal Panels make funding decisions concerning the renewal of funds for programs that have previously begun.  Once again, if you sign up here contact me and I will get you the information you will need for training.

Total Time Commitment: It is anticipated that the training time, proposal review time and panel discussions will take between 13 and 16 hours total for the Grant Review Panel and about 6 to 8 hours for a Renewal Panel.

Thank you for helping to make a positive change within our community. Your volunteer spirit is sincerely appreciated.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call.

Best Regards,

Tom Baumgartner
