Annual request for support of IBSA programs, services and activities

Dear IBSA Sponsors, Supporters and Friends:

We are a compact non-profit that has a history of being consistent when it comes to speaking up for those without a strong and solid voice to government and business business leaders. Although we have only 5 staff members, we still serve hundreds of men, women and youth throughout Kansas with some direct-service; most of which reside in low to-moderate income neighborhoods, households and receive some form of public assistance.

Our agency has operating expenses like other traditional nonprofits such as rent, utilities, and program administration, so from time to time we seek individual financial support like any other organization serving individuals in the community. Which is why we are asking you for your support to our efforts.

To me, IBSA is something special. It is like a canary in the mine shaft or a Sentinel on lookout when the young, weak and infirm are asleep. It is like a refuge and has been a place were many have come to think and learn.

To maintain our independent voice we rarely run ads, have received no government grants for over 15 years, we receive little support from local corporations or small businesses, and individual donations to our organization average about $20. After 19 years, we just had to learn to do more; with less!

If everyone reading this contributed $10, our fundraising efforts would be done within an hour. If you feel our agency is useful to our community and gives unique value to those we aspire to serve, take one minute to add your support for our continued efforts in 2013.

Your support will help us forget fundraising and get back to the pressing issues at hand.

Thank you in advance.

Lazone Grays, Jr.
President / CEO
