Registration for the 8th World Alliance of Cities Against Poverty is now open


 

 

On 20th and 21st February 2013, Dublin City Council will co-host with UNDP in partnership with UN Women, the 8th Forum of the World Alliance of Cities Against Poverty (WACAP) at the RDS in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. The forum will examine the role of technology in alleviating the symptoms of urban poverty and in making cities Smart, Safe and Sustainable.

Vinay Venkatraman, Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design will examine the potential and limitations of technology in the fight against poverty Simon Giles, Director of Intelligent Cities Strategy, Accenture will highlight, with the City of Guadalajara, a business and governance model for inclusive urban redevelopment 

Learnshops
A range of versatile learnshops, panel discussions and networking events will advance learning on practices, tools and on the ground experience, in developing smart, safe and sustainable cities of the global South and North.

Global Stories

Global Stories will allow city leaders, practitioners and researchers to illustrate partnerships, policies, programmes and projects where technology and other tools and practices are being used to address the urban challenges of poverty, safety and sustainability.
