DOL Grants: Funding Opportunities

Homeless Female Veterans' and Veterans with Families Reintegration Program — SGA-13-02

The U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) Veterans' Employment and Training Service (VETS) announces the availability of approximately $5 million in grant funds to be awarded under the Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program — Homeless Female Veterans' and Veterans with Families. The grants are intended to address two objectives: to provide services to assist in reintegrating homeless female veterans and veterans with families into meaningful employment within the labor force, and to stimulate the development of effective service delivery systems that will address the complex problems facing homeless female veterans and veterans with families. Successful applicants will propose programs that expedite the reintegration of eligible homeless veterans into the labor force. Successful applicants will have demonstrated the ability to address the universal challenges as well as the local or regional problems that have contributed to veteran homelessness and have prevented these veterans from stabilizing their lives and reentering the workforce.

Disability Employment Initiative — SGA-DFA-PY-12-03

The U.S. Department of Labor's (DOL) Employment and Training Administration (ETA), in coordination with Department of Labor's (the Department) Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP), announces the availability of approximately $18 million for a fourth round of cooperative agreements to state agencies that administer the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. The Department expects to use this funding to award four (4) to eight (8) cooperative agreements to help states develop and implement plans for improving effective and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in the workforce. These cooperative agreements will have a three (3) years and four (4) months period of performance.

'Stand Down' Grants to Assist Homeless Veterans

The U.S. Department of Labor announced the availability of $600,000 in "Stand Down" grants that will provide an estimated 10,000 homeless veterans with opportunities to reintegrate into society. The grants are being awarded under the department's Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program. Approximately seventy grants in each of the three fiscal years covered by this solicitation are expected to be awarded. A maximum of $10,000 per multi-day event or $7,000 for a one-day event can be awarded. Stand Down grant funds must be used to enhance employment and training opportunities or to promote the self-sufficiency of homeless veterans through paid work. Applications for Stand Down funds will be accepted from State Workforce Agencies, State and local Workforce Investment Boards, Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs), local public agencies, and non-profit organizations including community and faith-based organizations. All applications for Stand Down grant funding must be submitted to the appropriate State Director for Veterans' Employment and Training (DVET) at least ninety (90) days prior to the event.
