YOUTH COALITION HONORED BY CITY OF DETROIT
Detroit, Michigan –The Better Detroit Youth Movement will be recognized by The
Detroit City Council for" outstanding work" on its annual scholarship fair. The
recognition ceremony will be held on October 21, 10:00 a.m., at the Coleman A.
Young Municipal Center (2 Woodward Detroit, MI, 48226, Suite 1340).
Every September, the BDYM and its partner, Infinite Scholars, host a scholarship fair
that connects hundreds of Detroit high school students to more than 30 colleges
across the country. "The fair gives students a great opportunity to speak with college
recruiters and achieve the bright futures they deserve," says BDYM co-director Rae
Glover. Now in its sixth year, it's estimated the fair has awarded more than $100
million in scholarships to junior and senior high school students.
A growing non-profit coalition, the BDYM collaborates with a variety of youth-serving
organizations and individuals, and provides personal, educational and professional
development, and community service opportunities for high-school aged Detroiters.
The BDYM is currently recruiting young women and men who want to help build a
better Detroit. To learn more, call 313.342.0697.
