The American Indian Symposium is a forum where American Indians can share their strategies, models and tools with individuals and organizations that provide services to urban American Indians. These are the agencies which provide health, mental health, education, and legal services within the Greater Kansas City area. The purpose of the Symposium is to create effective partnerships to deliver culturally sensitive care for American Indians in the urban community setting and to broaden access to the resources needed to create programs benefitting all American Indian populations. The symposium targets management-level personnel as well as front-line employees in these health, education, mental health and law environments. The American Indian Symposium is a unique learning event that features national and local leaders in the American Indian community. All presenters are enrolled members of federally recognized Indian tribes and nations throughout the United States.
