| Feminism is an issue that affects everyone, no matter one's gender, race, ethnicity, or orientation. However, all too often, the face of feminism is represented as a cisgender white woman. This year, the Kansas National Organization for Women is challenging that notion. We will be celebrating the diversity that exists within feminism at our Annual Conference titled Woman of Color and Allies. Here, we will hear several women of color share their perspectives of feminism in relation to issues such as abortion, economic justice, health, and government. Kansas NOW is proud to be co-sponsoring this event along with Wichita State University's FOCUS. | | | | | Various Panelists...
Panel discussions covering health matters that disproportionately impact communities of color, and women of color in government. Panelists to include Representatives from local and state government and representatives from local health organizations. | In his role as President of IBSA, Inc., Lazone has fought for policies of economic justice for women and minorities. Described as a "policy engineer" by the African American activist community, Lazone will speak about women of color and economic justice.
