On November 17, 2014, the Office of Child Support Enforcement issued a proposed rule entitled Flexibility, Efficiency, and Modernization in Child Support Enforcement Programs. The new rule proposes revisions to existing law that could significantly alter Child Support Enforcement program operations and enforcement procedures, especially for low-income fathers. Broad in scope, the changes touch on a variety of areas, including the establishment of child support orders, job services for low-income noncustodial parents, and the modification of support orders for incarcerated parents. Effectively Working with Child Support Agencies

This webinar will serve as a focus group and information session designed to address impressions of the Child Support program and its relationship with fatherhood programs. Presenters will engage in dialogue with participants to solicit feedback on their organizations' experience engaging with Child Support Enforcement agencies, ways that Child Support can improve their relationships with fatherhood organizations, and suggestions for how Child Support agencies can increase overall program effectiveness. The Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act (Act) requires that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) submit a Report to Congress by June 30, 2015 in consultation with stakeholders including: state, tribal, and county child support directors, judges, custodial and noncustodial parents, organizations that represent parents, and fiduciaries such as financial institutions and employers.
